The ERTMS Programme Management outlines the frameworks for realising ERTMS, based on the requirements of the Ministry of infrastructure and water management. To this end, we work together with the implementing organisations (IOs). The IOs are responsible for converting the infrastructure and equipment, for example. They design the changes and implement them.
Quality and integration
The ERTMS Programme Management monitors the manner in which the results form. It checks if they meet the preconditions and programme objectives. And tests if the results are sufficient for a properly functioning transportation system.
Together with the railway sector
The ERTMS Programme Management directs the implementation of ERTMS. The implementing organisations will at some point need to do the work and actually implementing ERTMS. In order to be certain that the new system will work properly, the entire sector will work together for all preparations.
We work closely together with the implementing organisations to learn their demands and wishes. We translate them, make progress, solve issues and check quality.
We keep in contact with major Dutch railway programmes that could influence the implementation of ERTMS. We ensure that the processes and systems are designed in such a way that the interests of users are put first and are truly of added value in practice.
Migration steps for major change
Changing the existing ATB transportation system to ERTMS Level 2 Baseline 3 is a major change. To clarify what changes and how this change will take place, we will work on the basis of ten steps. Working with migration steps leaves room for innovation and sustainability. And it allows us to change direction, if necessary.
